As the year draws to a close, I had the real pleasure of giving a talk about Anfield Road at a fantastic new comic shop in Bebington: Kraken Comics. This gem on the Wirral is far more than just a bookshop. Run with passion by Cathy and Gaz, Kraken Comics has quickly become a creative hub for local talent and new voices.

I had a wonderful time with a truly lovely group of people at Kraken Comics. I was honoured to be there first speaker ad I know there will be many more to come. During my talk, I shared the story behind Anfield Road—its origins, the creative process, and how it came together.
We also delved into a bigger conversation: the role of the working-class creator in today’s climate. It sparked a lively and thoughtful debate, full of energy and insight.
The evening didn’t end there—we carried on the discussion over at the Rose and Crown, which made the whole experience feel even more special.
