I’m incredibly proud to share that I’ll be appearing at the wonderful Homebaked Café in Anfield. Just a stone’s throw from Liverpool Football Club, Homebaked is far more than a bakery — it’s a vibrant community hub with deep roots in the area. I’m genuinely honoured to have been invited by Everton Library Trust and Homebaked Bakery to take part in this special event.
On the night, I’ll be talking about my debut graphic novel Anfield Road, and there will also be a small exhibition featuring artwork from the book. It feels surreal and exciting to bring the story back to the very streets where it’s set — almost like stepping inside the pages and living them for real.

This event is also supporting a cause very close to my heart: the reopening of Everton Library. When I was a kid, that library was my gateway to the world — especially through my beloved Dr. Seuss books. The Grade II–listed building has sadly fallen into disrepair since its closure in 1999, but its beautiful iron spiral staircases and unique character remain etched in my memory. It even appears in Anfield Road, because it’s such a meaningful part of my own story. If you’d like to support the library’s revival or simply learn more, this evening is the perfect opportunity. Why not check out Everton Library Trust on Insta?
And of course, it wouldn’t be a visit to Homebaked without mentioning the pies — genuinely some of the best on the planet. That alone makes the event worth the trip.

I’ll also be signing copies of Anfield Road, which will be available to buy at Homebaked for the delight of the match‑day crowd. If you can’t make it but still want a copy, you can pick one up here.
