Liverpool friends, something special is about to land on Anfield Road. After months of graft, excitement, and a whole lot of community spirit, our brand‑new Anfield Road exhibition is finally ready to open its doors. This project has been a true team effort. Huge thanks to Polly Mossley from the Everton Library Trust, and to Ange and Tony at the brilliant Homebaked café—without their support, this simply wouldn’t have happened.
We’re unveiling a fresh collection of prints from the book, many of which have never been displayed before. You’ll be able to see them up close and pick up your own copies at Homebaked starting Tuesday 24th March. I’ll be there all afternoon and well into the evening, soaking up the atmosphere and chatting with everyone who drops by. It’s going to be a warm, buzzing, very Liverpool kind of day.

And that’s not all… the day begins with a walking tour through the heart of Anfield Road. If the weather plays along, we’ll set off at around 1:30pm for a guided wander through the real‑life locations that inspired the book. Chris will be leading the way, sharing the stories, memories, and moments that shaped each scene. It’s a chance to step directly into the world behind the pages.
Here’s the route we’ll be taking:
Walton Breck Road
The bus stop where Conor rushes Mary to the hospital, and the old Echo office.
Blessington Road
The row of shops where Conor and Maureen weave through their everyday lives. Familiar streets with stories tucked into every doorway.
Anfield Road
Home to the King Harry pub and Conor’s house — two places that pulse with the spirit of the neighbourhood.
Stanley Park
We’ll pause by the Isa Gladstone Conservatory, a quiet, beautiful corner that carries its own history and atmosphere.
Back Rockfield Road
Walk the same path Conor takes on his journey to his first match—full of nerves, excitement, and that unmistakable match‑day buzz.
Homebaked Café

Once the walking tour brings us back to Homebaked, the doors will open to the full exhibition. You’ll be able to wander inside, see the prints freshly hung on the walls, and get a close look at the artwork that grew out of the streets we’ve just walked together. Copies of the book and individual prints will be available to buy throughout the afternoon.
Then, at 5:30pm, we shift into something really special: an author talk that digs into the heart of the project. This one‑off session will explore the inspirations behind the book, the stories woven through Anfield Road, and the community voices that helped shape it. If you’re curious about how the work came to life, this is the moment you won’t want to miss.
Most importantly, this whole event is rooted in community spirit. Everything happening on the day is in support of the restoration of Everton Library, a landmark that deserves to be brought back to life.

And if you can’t make it along—or haven’t yet picked up a copy of the book—don’t worry. You can still get your hands on one. Full details on how to order are available here.
