Back from Caption Comic Festival!

Chris has just returned from the vibrant Caption Comic Festival in Oxford—and what a weekend it was! The event was packed with energy, creativity, and some of the finest talent in the world of comics and cartoons.

Among the stellar guest lineup were Paul Hatcher, Paul B. Rainey, Lucy Sullivan, Zara Slattery, Alex Fitch, Andy Oliver, Darryl Cunningham, Al Davison, Daniel Merlin and Hannah Berry — each bringing their unique voice and vision to the festival.

A massive shoutout to the incredible team who made it all happen: Amy Letts, Emily Brady, Barry Crenshaw, Vicky Bernard, Matt Chambers, and Andy Luke. Your hard work and passion lit up the whole experience. Thank you!

The book tour continues with more events being announced this week.

ENCOUNTERS FILM FESTIVAL, BRISTOL

We’re thrilled to announce that Chris will be appearing at Animated Encounters, one of the UK’s most vibrant celebrations of animation and storytelling. The event takes place at the iconic Arnolfini in Bristol, and Chris will be joining the lineup on Thursday 25th September at 14:30. Chris will be discussing his latest work, Anfield Road, offering insights into the creative process behind the book, and sharing exclusive readings. There will also be a book signing session, so don’t miss your chance to meet Chris in person and get your copy signed! THE LAKES INTERNATIONAL COMIC ART FESTIVAL

The Lakes International Comic Art Festival (LICAF) is an annual celebration of comics and graphic novels held in Bowness-on-Windermere, England. The 2025 edition will take place from September 26-28 and will feature live draws, interviews, workshops, exhibitions, book launches, and a Comics Marketplace. LICAF is known for its international lineup of comic creators, which this year includes Chris Shepherd, showcasing talent from around the world. The festival also runs year-round projects under the theme Comics Can Change the World, using comics to promote literacy, education, and environmental awareness.
