
We are very excited to announce that Chris will be a panelist at this years Caption Festival. The Caption Festival, a beloved event for small press and comics enthusiasts, is making its return in 2025 after a hiatus since 2017. This year’s theme is “Rebirth,” fitting for its comeback. The festival will take place on August 16th and 17th, 2025, in Seacourt Hall, Oxford.
Caption is known for its relaxed and social atmosphere, where creators and fans can connect without the usual barriers of large conventions. Instead of individual stalls, there’s a shared sales table, along with panels, workshops, and a chill-out space for attendees.

Some of the confirmed guests include:
- Lucy Sullivan, creator of the graphic novel Barking, which explores mental health themes.
- Andy Oliver, Editor-in-Chief of Broken Frontier, who will host the “Six To Watch” panel, spotlighting emerging talents in indie comics3.
- Beck Kubrick – Creator of Dead Girls – Beck is a Manchester based creator and one of 2023’s Broken Frontier Six To Watch list. They are best known for Dead Girls: Beach Day (2022).
- Chris Shepherd – Creator of Anfield Road from Titan Comics – Chris Shepherd is an artist, writer, filmmaker.
- Dominique Duong (Saturday only) (The Dog & The Cat) – Dominique is an illustrator and comic artist based in London (UK), who creates queer fantasy, horror and romance comics, as well as a little dabbling in autobio.
- Zara Slattery – Creator of Coma – Zara’s first full length graphic memoir, Coma, was shortlisted for the Myriad First Graphic Novel Competition 2018, The Arts Foundation Futures Awards 2020 and longlisted for the LDComics Awards 2019.
