A huge shout out to Alexei and Talal for name checking Anfield Road while chatting about Liverpool’s rubble years when mass slum clearance ruled the land . So much of Everton and Anfield was demolished in the 80s. It forms the backdrop for Anfield Road. Road layouts with only the streets left. That was home for me. I will be in conversation with Alexei Sayle this Thursday’s (21st November) Bar Shorts. Alexei wrote the forward for my book. To celebrate the launch of Anfield Road we will be showing Willy Russell’s Our Day Out. Its kicks off 7:30 for a 8pm start. It is sold out but there will be returns.
